This is the guitar that started it all — the first prototype — the one that launched LaValle Guitars' Hand-Crafted Playable Art. A single piece of redwood from an old picnic table, a drawing, and a scrap of maple. The design and shape are inspired from fish - their sleek look and quick movements, coupled with their colorful scales are blended through each LaValle Guitar.
The Sunny 1221 is powered by a single DiMarzio PAF Pro®. This single pickup delivers, with low notes that have both snap and chunk, and there is a spike in the mid-range that gives the pickup a subtle "aw" vowel sound, like a wah-wah pedal stopped in the middle. Treble response is tweaked to produce highs that stand out without getting brittle.
Each guitar body is hand cut from selected reclaimed old growth woods. Each is then carefully sculpted using rasps, files and sandpaper, and each then goes through a unique proprietary process of heat and friction to seal the end grain.

Each guitar is Made-to-Order. Because each guitar body is hand carved and painted, no two instruments, and no two of the same models, are exactly alike. EACH is its own piece of art, separate from the others. These are not mass-produced, and do require a 2-3 month wait time once ordered. Because each guitar is made-to-order, we cannot offer exchanges or returns. Full Details

The slower transference of acoustic energy from the non-glued neck yields a little more pop and attack from the string—in essence, it decouples the strings from the body and neck. The snap and pop of the bolt-on guitar neck emphasizes note definition. It adds a sharpness and firmness that contribute to a cutting tone, often called "twang".
One of the most common scale lengths is the 25-1/2" (648mm) guitar scale and found on a wide variety of instruments. The 25-1/2" scale produces a rich, strong, bell-like tone, and defined low-end.
